There are four different types of house:
Cabin STYLE: detached cabin with distant view, 25 square metres, 8 m panoramic window, 6 of 9 cabins equipped with integrated sauna, electric fireplace, Apple iPad with TV access; opening summer 2024
Cabin STARS: free-standing cabin, 30 square metres, 6 m panoramic window, sleeping gallery with stargazing window above the bed, opening summer 2023
Cabin COZY 2er: 2-storey semi-detached house, 40 square metres, sauna and bed on the upper floor, gas fireplace, opening 2021
Cabin COZY 4er: detached 2-storey cabin, 80 square metres, sauna, 2x bedrooms, large kitchen, opening 2021
Unusual, carefully thought-out floor plans combined with clear, modern design. The exterior of the wooden houses is characterized by a diagonal ridge beam and large panorama windows.
Concrete, wood, and black multiplex panels are the dominant building materials.
The property is divided into two levels of 15,000 square metres each by a 7-metre-high quarry stone wall. On the upper level there are 9 x Cabin STYLE and on the lower level there are 11 x Cabin COZY and 2 x Cabin STARS.
The plots are car-free.
The cabins were custom-built for us by local specialist companies using timber frame construction methods and 100% renewable building materials. The Cabin COZY are heated with a modern air heat pump with maximum efficiency and underfloor heating.
The Cabin STYLE generate their own electricity via a photovoltaic system installed on the roof in combination with an innovative salt battery storage system.
During the construction of the facility, breeding boxes were created for bats, light sources were installed that do not attract insects and over 5,000 plants were planted.
You can make a binding reservation for the holiday homes on our website or request a price quote by e-mail. You will be shown the available holiday homes during your preferred booking period or potential alternative dates for your stay. Payment is by bank transfer.
The minimum stay is normally 2 days and 3 days during the national school holidays.
During the winter holidays the minimum stay is 7 days with arrival and departure on Friday.
You will receive a 5% discount for stays of seven days or longer.
You can check out from 4:00 p.m. and check out until 10:30 a.m.

We ask for your understanding that you as the tenant are obliged to pay the full invoice amount even in the event of cancellation. We are happy to accommodate you as best we can:
In the event of cancellation at least 30 calendar days (>30 days) before the rental period, the hirer remains obliged to pay the invoice amount in full, but will receive a voucher for the amount paid as a gesture of goodwill.
In the event of a later cancellation (0 – 29 calendar days before arrival), the tenant will not receive a voucher. As a gesture of goodwill, the landlord will then grant a flat-rate discount of 25% of the invoice amount. The tenant therefore remains obliged to pay 75% of the invoice amount.

Yes, if you book a house on our homepage, you can book breakfast in the further booking process. This will be brought to your house by 8.30 in the morning and placed in the box next to your entrance. Unfortunately, breakfast is not served on Mondays.
No, as we deliberately want to exclude car traffic on the property so that you can enjoy relaxing in unspoilt nature.

Yes, we have specially designated cabins where you are welcome to take your dog with you on vacation.
The kitchenette is equipped with a dishwasher, oven, induction hotplate, French press filter coffee maker and kettle, as well as cooking utensils and crockery. We also provide salt, pepper, tea, coffee, washing-up liquid, a dishwashing sponge, a tea towel, and dishwasher tabs.
The COZY 2 and 4-seater cabins are equipped with a TV and music system.
The STYLE and STARS cabins are equipped with an iPad including TV access and a music system.
You will receive an e-mail containing the PIN number to unlock your entrance door approximately two days before your arrival.
Yes, as you open the front door with a PIN, you can arrive and depart contactless. We will be happy to welcome you.
Yes, pets are not allowed in some of our houses. As there are so many different allergies, please get in touch with us if you have specific questions.
The entrance doors lock automatically every time the door is closed. The window and door locks comply with contemporary modern standards.
The gas stove can be switched on and off and the flame regulated using a remote control. The flame imitates the flame pattern of a conventional wood flame almost perfectly and creates a cozy warmth.
All of the windows can be darkened using blinds or pleated shades. If the room is still too bright for you to sleep in, we will be happy to provide you with a Neugrad eye mask.
The COZY 2-seater and COZY 4-seater cabins and designated STYLE cabins have their own sauna, which you can use as you wish and free of charge. Sauna towels are provided.
The Cabin STARS and Cabin STYLE without integrated sauna can optionally enjoy a 2-hour exclusive time-out in the outdoor sauna of the premium brand Klafs for € 15, which can be booked on site and is located on the property. This offer will be available from mid-2024.
The beds are freshly made and towels are ready for you. Bathrobes can be booked as an option during the booking process.

We comply with the requirements of the Infection Protection Ordinance. The houses are comprehensively cleaned and ventilated, and all contact surfaces are cleaned using degreaser cleaning products. Bedding, towels and bathrobes are washed at 60 degrees.
Burg Vogelsang was constructed during the National Socialist era as an educational centre.
After the Second World War, the buildings and the surrounding forests were used as a training facility by the US and, later, the Belgian military.
After it stopped being used for military training in 2006, the surrounding area was designated as a national park. The aim is to leave the unique wealth of nature in the region to its own devices in order to restore the original ancient woodland.
Sightings of wild animals such as red deer, mouflon and roe deer are not uncommon.
The national park offers numerous free guided tours with rangers, providing fascinating insights into the natural environment.
The property is located on the site of the former Burg Vogelsang. At the time, there were plans for further extensions to the educational centre that never came to fruition. The natural stone wall was constructed to straighten the topography of the site.
If you wish to discover the surrounding area by bicycle, our bike hire partner can bring e-bikes to your holiday home for a fee. Please get in touch with us if you are interested.
An indoor swimming pool and tennis court are located around 700 metres from the property and can be used for a fee. With more than 200 kilometres of hiking routes, the neighbouring national park is the perfect place for a good long walk.
The nearby reservoirs can be discovered by canoe.
You can travel by train to Kall, Mechernich or Nettersheim and then take a bus or taxi to Neugrad, for example. We will be happy to assist you with your travel planning.
